“The new lasers offer compelling cost-performance: the performance of a 488 nm DPSS laser with the cost structure of a direct diode”
says Wolfgang Koehler, product manager of Spectra-Physics Stahnsdorf.
“The new laser extends the highly popular Excelsior One family of compact CW lasers with leading edge technology designed for demanding bio-instrumentation applications.”
Excelsior One NB 488-50 outputs up to 50 mW at 488 nm and has a laser-to-laser center wavelength variation of less than ±1 nm. This narrow bandwidth 488 nm laser delivers a typical FWHM linewidth of <0.5 nm and low noise of <0.5% rms that leads to highest signal-to-noise-ratio and more accurate results.
This new model is an addition to the Excelsior One product line that’s based on Spectra-Physics’ It’s In the Box™ design wher the laser cavity, narrow band enabling components, and control electronics are integrated into a single, compact package, thereby eliminating unnecessary cables and external controllers. It provides a common footprint and dimensions to ensure easy configuration on multi-laser light engines.
Spectra-Physics’ new Excelsior One NB 488-50 laser will be featured at Laser World of Photonics, Messe München, Munich, Germany, June 22-25, 2015. Please visit Spectra-Physics at hall A2, booth 307 for a live demonstration. The new laser will also be featured at the Cyto 2015 Conference in Glasgow, UK, June 26-30, 2015 at Spectra-Physics’ booth #515.
